RE:COM V2.0.0 Patch Notes

This update is a significant advancement for RE:COM, addressing server issues and implementing substantial engine optimizations. These improvements allow for more ambitious features, including the new attachment system V3. Under the hood, extensive changes and code rewrites have almost made RE:COM V2.0.0 an entire new engine.

Networking Updates

+ Implemented the BridgeNet networking architecture

+ BridgeNet more than halves sent KB/s from 50KB/s to about 10-15KB/s

+ BridgeNet optimizes recivied KB/s down to 0-1 KB/s this was previously up to 60KB/s without BridgeNet


Optimizations using IoN

+ Optimized how sounds are called and played using BridgeNet 

+ Gun functions such as Equip and Unequip now use BridgeNet

Optics

+ Changed reticles to fit inside of the actual lens size, prevents clipping of the reticle outside the lens


Animations

+ Improved animation sets

Systems

+ Universal Animations V2, all the weapons now call animations from an "Animation Set" from replicated storage. This means animations can be preloaded and also is much easier to set up and change animations since they are no longer localized to the weapon.


Attachment System V3

+ New interactive attachment UI, allows players to seamlessly change out their weapon loadout on the fly. Universal to all weapons, no extra set up needed


- Weapons can still use their own animations if needed. Its configurable in settings


Bug Fixes

+ Fixed Attachment UI states being stuck after unequip/death
